Announcing Our Chosen Validators

We are excited to introduce the first group of validators for the 0G Testnet! Over the past few weeks, we’ve closely evaluated applications from highly qualified candidates who are eager to contribute to our network. Keep reading below, as we outline our selection process and explain the role that the validators will play in our ecosystem.

Our Validator Selection Process for the 0G Testnet

Choosing the right validators is key to ensuring a stable and efficient network. Our selection process identifies those who possess technical proficiency and demonstrate a firm commitment to the network's growth and maintenance. Want to know more about the criteria we used? Read ahead!

1. Application Requirement: Only those who applied via the form were considered. We can’t determine your willingness to participate continuously if you didn’t fill out the form.
2. Selection Criteria: The selection was based on:
   1. 20% community activity
   2. 60% past Testnet on-chain activity
   3. 20% role
   Please note that at least 80% of the selection was based on past Testnet on-chain activities. We did take into account participants who were only involved in the current version of the testnet. Those participants were filtered out from the final selection list. Our evaluation was based on past onchain activities to ensure that only those with a consistent and robust contribution history were selected for the first round.
3. Evaluation Process: Our evaluation used onchain statistics and the information from the Google form. It’s impossible to distinguish between those who copied commands or followed guides versus those who didn’t, so some might have high signed blocks and other onchain stats.
4. Future Rotations: This is the first round of validator selection. Those who cannot provide robust services will eventually be replaced. We reconsider the selections every two weeks.
