0G and Brevis Partners to Enable Trust-Free Cross-Chain DA

0G is pleased to be partnering with Brevis, who will help bring highly secure cross-chain data availability (DA) to 0G, powered on the back end by zero-knowledge proofs.

This is important as some cross-chain DA solutions rely upon centralized bridge mechanisms that have continuously proven themselves susceptible to corruption. As Web3 becomes increasingly interconnected and interdependent, infrastructure like 0G requires a highly secure manner to attest data availability across networks.

Zero Knowledge Proof technology is widely recognized as the most secure and trust-free solution to this type of challenge, and through this partnership, any project using either 0G Storage or 0G DA can now benefit from highly secure, cross-chain data availability attestation and data sharing powered by Brevis.

Below we’ll elaborate on the architecture and implications of this.

Brevis Brings Fast, Secure Computations to 0G

Brevis can use zero-knowledge (ZK) proof technology to take any data stored using 0G and stream it to other supported chains. Brevis leverages its ZK light client technology to generate Proof of Consensus for 0G blockchain. This allows other blockchains leveraging 0G’s data store to have trust-free access to 0G’s block header. Once the block header is available, developers can run arbitrary computation on top of any data stored in the 0G blockchain, generate ZK Proof of the computation result using Brevis’s coprocessing SDK, and utilize that data without trusting any part other than 0G blockchain itself.

In addition, ZK technology can prove that computations were done correctly without revealing details surrounding the underlying data, meaning that Brevis can prove data as valid while keeping information confidential.

The result is that data will be available across any supported network while being incorruptible due to the implementation of ZK-proof technology.

Overall, this partnership is essentially for having 0G support new L2s and L3s by allowing other blockchains’ smart contracts to have trust-free access to all types of data stored in 0G in a highly secure manner, which is critical for supporting Web3’s data needs.

About Brevis

Brevis is a smart ZK coprocessor that empowers smart contracts to read the full historical on-chain data from any chain and run customizable computations in a completely trust-free way.

Brevis can trustlessly read the states, transactions, and receipts of any time frame. It efficiently runs computations on data of any size and can verify Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs on any blockchain. Brevis empowers data-rich use cases, including data-driven DeFi, user-segment optimized live-ops features, zkBridges, zkDID, or ZKML, all executed in a trustless manner across multiple chains.
