Road to Mainnet: 0G Brings Decentralized AI to Lagos
The road to mainnet isn’t just about scaling infrastructure, it’s about showing up for the builders shaping its future. After showing out at countless web3 events, plus a four-city tour across China earlier this year, 0G touched down in Lagos, Nigeria, on June 21.
The result? 230+ people gathered at Elegushi Royal Beach in Lekki for a packed day of ideas, inspiration, and innovation.
From keynote speeches and fireside chats to developer pitches and networking over lunch, the one-day event was a powerful reminder that decentralized intelligence isn’t just a trend, but a movement: and Africa is helping lead the way.
Building Onchain AI, Together
The event kicked off with opening remarks from Elisha Owusu Akyaw, 0G’s Social Media Lead and a familiar face in the web3 community across Africa.
Elisha set the tone with a powerful message: Africa is not just a consumer of new technologies, it’s a co-creator. From infrastructure to innovation, 0G is here to support the builders already shaping the future of onchain AI.

That message came to life in the keynote from 0G Co-Founder and CEO Michael Heinrich, who walked the audience through what decentralized AI really is and why it matters now more than ever.
With centralized AI systems becoming increasingly opaque and extractive, the need for open, composable infrastructure is urgent. Michael laid out how 0G’s modular stack is designed to make AI a public good that is scalable, transparent, and available to all.
The day continued with a dynamic panel hosted by Xeus the Great where Elisha, Headboy, and BMS explored both the promise and the hard questions facing the future of AI and web3. From GPU networks and data provenance to education and access, the conversation reflected a shared commitment to building systems that work for everyone, not just the few.

That spirit carried into the 0G Lagos Dev Pitch, where six developers took the stage to present early-stage tools and ideas at the intersection of AI and blockchain. From start to finish, the day was a reminder that decentralized AI isn’t just a technical ambition. It’s a cultural and collaborative one, too.
The Road Ahead: Mainnet and Momentum
As the day wrapped with group photos, food, and more connections made under the Lagos sun, one thing was clear: this wasn’t just a stop on a roadmap, it was a signal. Africa is not an afterthought in the DeAI conversation. It’s central to the future we’re building.
Whether you joined us in Lagos, followed along from afar, or caught us at a conference this summer, this is only the beginning. Mainnet is coming, and so is a global network of builders ready to decentralize AI at scale.
