0G Partners with NTU Singapore to Advance Decentralized AI Research
At 0G, we believe AI should not belong to a few private systems but operate as a transparent public resource. That vision is now taking a major step forward in Singapore.
0G and Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) have launched a S$5 million joint research program to pioneer decentralized AI technologies that make machine intelligence more open, accountable, and scalable.
This collaboration marks 0G’s first university collaboration globally and will fund multiple projects exploring decentralised AI training, blockchain-integrated model alignment, and proof- of-useful-work consensus mechanisms.

NTU Singapore is a Tech Research Powerhouse
NTU Singapore is one of Asia’s top research universities and a recognized leader in computing, cryptography, and AI systems design. The university’s College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) and Centre in Computational Technologies for Finance (CCTF) have been at the forefront of blockchain and distributed intelligence research, developing practical frameworks that blend high performance with rigorous security.
These strengths make NTU an ideal academic partner for 0G, whose modular decentralized AI operating system already provides the compute, storage, and serving layers needed for verifiable intelligence onchain. Together, the two institutions will merge academic depth with production-grade blockchain infrastructure to create a new research model for open AI.
From Technical Research to Real-World AI Infrastructure
0G’s partnership with NTU will explore how every stage of AI development can be recorded and validated onchain. The goal is to bridge academic depth with real-world deployment and create new pathways for decentralized AI research across industries.
“NTU has built world-class expertise in blockchain systems, cryptography and computing. By working with 0G, we aim to design a next-generation, innovative AI stack that enables global participation and transparency for everyone.” — Prof. Louis Phee, NTU Vice President (Innovation & Enterprise)
Our collaboration will span an initial four years, with proof-of-concepts focused on finance, healthcare, environmental modeling, and smart infrastructure expected within the first two years.
Key components of this partnership include:
- Joint Research Hub: A four-year collaboration exploring decentralized AI training, including workshops, hackathons, student scholarships, and more.
- Verifiable AI Frameworks: Deep technical research on blockchain-based validation systems where AI processes can be traced and audited end-to-end.
- Open Marketplaces and Incentives: Development of model and data exchanges that reward contributors for compute and data sharing.
The joint research team will be led by Professor Wen Yonggang, Associate Provost (Graduate Education) and Dean of the NTU Graduate College, and Dr Ming Wu, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at 0G.
Taken together, this initiative will create opportunities for researchers, students, and institutions to participate directly as we nurture Asia’s next generation of decentralised AI talent.
Toward a More Transparent, Verifiable AI Future
By combining NTU’s research leadership with 0G’s decentralized infrastructure, this partnership sets a new standard for how AI will be conceived, built and governed. As AI becomes more pervasive, we are working to ensure that its future is not only powerful, but available as a public good.
