

AI-Driven Layer 1, 0G Adopts Chainlink Data Streams and Integrates CCIP As Its Canonical Cross-Chain Infrastructure
We’re excited to announce that 0G has integrated the Chainlink interoperability standard, Chainlink CCIP, as our canonical cross-chain infrastructure for 0G’s modular, AI-driven layer 1 blockchain. This enables developers to build highly reliable, next-generation blockchain applications and drive the adoption of 0G across the multi-chain ecosystem. We’re leveraging the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard to facilitate cross-chain token transfers of the 0G token, the native asset that secures the 0G decentralized AI operating system and powers our storage, data, and compute economy. 0G has also adopted the Chainlink data standard via Chainlink Data Streams as our preferred low-latency oracle solution to power the 0G ecosystem with premium high-frequency market data.
We selected CCIP as our canonical cross-chain infrastructure because Chainlink has a proven track record of maintaining the highest standard of security and reliability in the blockchain industry. CCTs enable self-serve deployments, full control and ownership for developers, enhanced programmability, and zero-slippage transfers—all backed by Chainlink CCIP.
Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and powering the majority of decentralized finance. Connecting 0G to the Chainlink community and ecosystem offers a multitude of growth opportunities that help 0G get closer to its goals and increase ecosystem adoption.
0G is a decentralized AI operating system built with a modular architecture designed for infinite horizontal scalability. It combines a decentralized storage network, a data availability layer, and a serving network for AI inference and training, all coordinated by the 0G consensus layer. This architecture addresses the transparency, fairness, and alignment challenges of centralized AI while delivering the performance needed for real-world AI systems. In order to enable developers to build next-gen cross-chain applications, we needed access to a highly secure and reliable interoperability solution. After reviewing various solutions, we integrated Chainlink CCIP because it provides a multitude of important benefits and features, such as:
- Secure Token Transfers—CCTs are token logic agnostic, meaning token developers can deploy pre-audited token pool contracts to turn any ERC20-compatible token into a CCT or deploy their own custom token pool contracts for bespoke token use cases. CCTs do not require token developers to inherit any CCIP-specific code within their token’s smart contract. CCTs also benefit from additional security functions in their CCIP token pools such as configurable rate limits and reliability features such as Smart Execution, which helps ensure reliable transaction execution on the destination chain regardless of blockchain network congestion.
- Seamless integration—CCIP offers a unified cross-chain developer experience by providing a single, easy-to-integrate interface. Developers only need to integrate the CCIP Router onchain to start building secure cross-chain applications. CCIP eliminates the need for developers to write custom code for chain-specific integrations, while users can interact with any blockchain via a single interface.
- Programmable Token Transfers—CCIP enables the transfer of value (via CCTs) cross-chain along with data instructions informing the receiving smart contract on what to do with those tokens once they arrive on the destination chain. Through cross-chain programmability, CCIP can condense a complex set of actions involving multiple users, blockchains, and assets down to a single atomic cross-chain instruction.
- Extendable and future-proof—CCIP is built to be future-proof for developers, where future improvements can continue to be made, including the integration of new blockchain networks, the onboarding of additional tokens, and more.
After reviewing various solutions, we adopted Chainlink Data Streams because it provides a combination of critical features essential for AI-native and DeFi applications. Data Streams deliver sub-second price latency through battle-tested oracle infrastructure, enabling a high-performance user experience without compromising on decentralization or transparency. It also delivers liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads, giving protocols the insights needed to update risk parameters and more accurately reflect real market liquidity. Underpinned by time-tested Chainlink infrastructure, Data Streams also ensure enterprise-grade reliability, security, and uptime for 0G applications.
