Infrastructure Upgrade: Foundation Validator Migration
We’re upgrading Foundation Validator node (Validator 0) to a new, improved infrastructure. If you’re staking with foundation Validator node, you need to undelegate and re-delegate to the new validator. Migration completes by February 20, 2026. All other validators are unaffected.
Overview
At 0G, we’re always looking for ways to strengthen our network infrastructure. As part of this ongoing effort, we are upgrading Foundation Validator node (Validator 0) by migrating it to a new, hardened environment.
This upgrade moves Foundation Validator node (Validator 0) to a more robust and future-proof setup, bringing it in line with our evolving infrastructure standards. Your funds are safe and no user assets are at risk this is about tightening things to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
This migration requires delegators currently staking with Foundation Validator node (Validator 0) to take action by undelegating and re-delegating to the designated replacement validator.
What Is Changing
Validator 0 will be retired and replaced with a new validator running on upgraded, secure infrastructure. This change affects only Validator 0. All other validators on the 0G network will continue to operate normally with no changes required.
- Affected: Delegators staking with Validator 0: 0x712a30816a8756c8fdb78de63db55aa70d3cf3b4
- Not affected: Delegators staking with any other validator
- New validator: 0xec856948cf28a7c36e4c0d7877d027ba0a8af17d
- Timeline: Migration completes by February 20, 2026. No hard deadline for undelegation.
Why We’re Doing This
As the 0G network grows, so do our infrastructure standards. We regularly review our validator environments to ensure they meet the highest benchmarks for security, reliability, and performance.
Rather than incrementally update the existing setup, we’re taking the opportunity to stand up a completely new validator with enhanced infrastructure from the ground up. This gives us a clean, hardened foundation and reflects our commitment to staying ahead of the curve as the network scales.
How to Migrate Your Delegation
If you’re currently staking with Validator 0, follow these steps:
- Undelegate your tokens from Validator 0: 0x712a30816a8756c8fdb78de63db55aa70d3cf3b4.
- Re-delegate your tokens to the new validator: 0xec856948cf28a7c36e4c0d7877d027ba0a8af17d.
Important: There is no hard deadline you can undelegate at any time. However, once Validator 0 is retired (by February 20, 2026), you will stop earning staking rewards. We strongly encourage everyone to act promptly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my funds at risk?
No. Your tokens are completely safe. This is a planned infrastructure upgrade not a response to any incident. You simply need to move your delegation to the new validator.
I’m staking with a different validator. Do I need to do anything?
No. Only Validator 0 delegators need to take action. All other validators are operating normally.
Is there a hard deadline?
No. You can undelegate at any time. However, once Validator 0 is retired (by February 20, 2026), you will stop earning staking rewards until you re-delegate to the new validator. We recommend acting promptly to minimize any gap in rewards.
Will there be more validator migrations in the future?
We continuously review and improve our validator infrastructure. If future upgrades require similar migrations, we will communicate them with ample notice. This is currently limited to Validator 0 only.
