Introducing 0G's Mascot

0G’s Origin Story
0G began with a vision: to make AI a public good. Founded by a team of visionaries and Web3 enthusiasts, 0G emerged from the desire to address the complexities and inefficiencies of data availability in decentralized systems. Our founders, who come from diverse backgrounds in technology, research, and business, had a shared commitment and belief that AI could drive positive change.

Origin of Our Mascot
The story of our panda mascot has its roots in a playful nickname given to our founder, Michael, a Kungfu practitioner for over a decade. When the movie "Kungfu Panda" captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, Michael's friends and family affectionately dubbed him "Kungfu Panda." This nickname, shared among loved ones and later with our team, inspired a creative endeavor within our community.

This anecdote was shared within our Discord community, sparking a surge of creativity. Motivated by Michael’s story and the movie character, our community came together to design what would soon become the iconic 0G panda. The original name of our company, Zero Gravity, naturally lent itself to this narrative, encouraging the community to envision our panda exploring new worlds, much like our company explores groundbreaking technologies.

Community-Centric Design Process
In the 0G spirit, the creation of our mascot was a collaborative effort. We launched a contest inviting our community to co-design the mascot, which helped foster a deeper connection with our community, and allowed us to tap into the collective creativity and insights of our most valuable asset—our users.

Choosing a Winner
It wasn’t easy. There were a ton of brilliant submissions from our Discord Community. But we had to choose a design we thought best fit our brand personality. Our criteria was: Does it stand out from a crowded field of panda characters that litter the internet? Does it capture the spirit of exploration that 0G stands for? Does it feel unique and customized and not completely AI-generated? And lastly—is it huggable?

In the end, we chose three finalists and one winner that rose to the top. Hanna’s mascot submission was our favorite. And we’re grateful that because she’s a skilled artist, she was able to go the extra mile and give us additional poses. Congratulations and a big thanks goes out to Hanna and the rest of the 0G Creator Community for making this competition a success!
